2010 LeFevre Family Pics

Santa brought Lindsey a fancy new camera this year. (I'm totally jealous and already know what I'm going to be asking for for the next few birthdays and Christmas' combined!) Thanks to a couple of Lindsey's friends, we were able to get some pretty good family pictures with it.

These are the two most awesome parents in the world! I will be eternally grateful for the safe, loving home they provide and everything they taught me about the gospel and about life. I couldn't have picked better parents or better siblings. Thank you Mom and Dad. I thought living far from home would get easier with time, but it has been the opposite. It hurts more every time I have to leave again. I think that's mainly because every time I go home I realize a little more how blessed I am to come from the family I do.

These aren't our family pictures, but I just couldn't resist adding them. These definitely make my list of all-time favorites. I've been laughing off and on for an hour just thinking about these gems. Marc, what would we do without your sparkling personality in our family?!

Christmastime in AZ - Part II

Christmas morning was as good as it always is at the LeFevre house. Sweet rolls, hot chocolate, candy from our stockings and lots of presents make for a good time. Spencer was thrilled with his train set. We actually got him a train table, but most of it was too big to come on an airplane and he had to wait until we got home to get it.

I got a sewing machine! I DETESTED sewing the few times I tried as a teenager, but my Mom always told me I'd wish I knew how to sew when I had kids. Mom was right again. How could I have ever doubted! Now, I hope I can learn to like sewing once I get the hang of it. Thanks Mom and Dad!

One great thing about having Christmas with family is that you can play with each others toys. Porter got this awesome Cars tent that both of the boys (and Katelyn and Marc) and a great time with.

I just liked this picture of Michelle. I can't believe she'll be 16 this year!

It was such fabulous weather on Christmas afternoon that we played outside for awhile.

Check out those guns!

Porter's teddy goes everywhere with him, so naturally, he needed a ride on the seesaw.

This is a typical view around my hometown. There's something about deep blue skies and endless horizons that Oregon can't touch with all of it's greenery. Sometimes I really miss home.

These are just because they make me laugh every time I look at them. Something about Marc brings out the goofiness in the best of us. ;)

Christmastime in AZ - Part I

Alan saved a lot of his vacation time for Christmas this year, so we got to go to Arizona for almost two wonderful weeks. We enjoyed some sunshine and fairly warm weather and didn't miss the record rainfalls they had in Oregon one bit.

We got to stay with our good friends from college - Glen, Rachel and their 3 cute kiddos - for a night on our way down. They were such wonderful hosts especially since we wound up being at their house for a lot longer than we had planned. Thank you Glen and Rachel!

Spencer was in love with Caleb's train table. We hardly saw him while we were there because he was too busy playing with it. Good thing already Santa knew how much he liked trains. ;)

We played at a park and soaked in a little sun for a while.

My entire family (there are 13 of us now) came home for Christmas this year and it was awesome! I never wanted to have friends over to my house in high school because there were so many little kids hanging around all the time. I never would have guessed how much I would miss them and enjoy being with them when we got older. I had such a wonderful time joking and just hanging out with my siblings and parents. We're very blessed to have a family that gets along so well even though I have no doubt that my parents questioned that every day when we were little.

The week before Christmas is always my favorite part of the season. Being with family, cheesy Christmas movies, Christmas stories, fudge, the anticipation of Christmas morning, and all of our other traditions make it such a meaningful time. This year, that week was extra special because I had been able to focus on the Savior's birth more than I normally do. Check out The Shepherd's Song by Larry Barkdull (Deseret Book) for a really great read next season.

Spencer got more attention than he knew what to do with and loved every minute of it. Michelle was so good to share all of her toys and there was always someone for him to play with. I actually started to miss him after hardly playing with him at all for several days.

Alan acting tough while helping build a patio without a jacket. It wasn't that warm.

He was also the official fudge maker.

Spencer discovered Grandma's Putt-putt computer game and spent A LOT of time playing it with whoever was willing.

Grandpa put new sand in the sandbox just for Spencer and Porter. Spencer had a great time filling his bucket and putting sticks in the sand to make a birthday cake. It was so nice to be outside and stay dry and warm for a little while.

My talented husband. He never practices, but I'm always impressed when I hear him play.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions - decorating gingerbread houses. This was Spencer's first time to participate. He ate way more candy than what actually got on his house.

The traditional gingerbread house picture.

Musical Michelle. She loved playing Lindsey's guitar and singing Christmas songs for everyone.

Christmas Eve afternoon was warm and sunny so we went to the park. Here's Elise sliding with Porter.

I finally managed to get a picture of my Dad. He's always elusive in my pictures. It was fun to watch him with his grandsons. He's a really good grandpa.

We always knew Lindsey should have been in the circus! jk!

Pre-Christmas Fun

We managed to squeeze in a few fun Christmas activities before we left town for St. Johns this year. Our favorite was a large nativity display put on by a neighboring stake. They collected and displayed a couple hundred nativities. That was cool, but the best part was the children's room. It was full of fun activities for kids. I was impressed by this life-size stable complete with all the nativity dress-up clothes a kid could want. Spencer is NOT into dressing up, but he did look at the manger.

Spencer loved the toy nativities. There weren't many other kids there when we were, so he got to play with all three sets by himself. He's been getting more into pretend play the past couple of months and it's so funny to listen to the dialogues he has with his little toys.

Spencer got to see Santa for the 1st time at our ward Christmas party. He wouldn't sit on Santa's lap, but at least there was no crying.

We opened our presents from the Rasmussen side of the family the night before we left. There was quite a pile. Thank you to everyone for the lovely books, game, calendars, and especially the beautiful hand-made coat tree!
