After the LeFevre Reunion was over, our family drove up to Logan for my 10th(!!) Roommate Reunion. We have been trying to hold a reunion every other year since most of us live in different states now. We've missed a year or two, but I still think it's pretty amazing that we keep managing to get all of our schedules and travel plans to align to make this happen! Katie and I happened to be in Utah at the same time and Christina, Mandy, and Abby were able to come to Logan for a few days just for the reunion. We missed Audra and Jonni this year!
Katie's parents own a large home in Logan so we all stayed there. Abby and Katie had their kids (3 each) and Christina and Mandy came by themselves. Alan was the only husband there and was really awesome to watch the kids a lot for us so we could talk. I'm so lucky to be married to such a great guy!
We were there Sunday evening through Tuesday morning. With so many little kids, it was easiest to hang out at the house so that's what we mostly did. The kids had a great time playing in the irrigation ditch in front of the house, riding bikes, and watching the Olympics with Alan while the five of us girls had lots of time to chat and catch up.
We take a picture in this pose every time we get together. I don't remember how I got to be the lucky one who is always "flying!"
Katie took us to a really fun bounce house place in the afternoon. I think we paid $5/kid and then they got to run and bounce around for as long as we wanted. The kids (and Alan) LOVED it! Alan tried to race the oldest kids through some obstacle courses, but his bigger body slowed him way down and the kids won. :)
I was nervous that my migraines were going to make this reunion tough too, but it turned out alright. Dr. Pepper saved me. The kids had so much fun playing together that it makes me sad we don't live closer together. They would be good friends. Spencer especially had a good time with Haddie and Jonas.
It makes me sad that I don't live closer to my good friends too! Even though we live far apart and have different lives, we get along so well and have so much fun laughing at old memories. I'll be forever grateful that I decided to live in an apartment with a girl from St. Johns (Jonni - who I didn't even know very well!) instead of in the dorms my freshman year. Even though Jonni only stayed one more semester, I made lasting friendships and lived with most of these same girls until they graduated and moved away and I got married.
Thanks so much for hosting us Katie and to everyone for making the effort to be there! Until 2018...!

Utah Trip - LeFevre family pictures
Lindsey also took some updated family pictures of all of us. Spencer was only 2.5 in our last family picture so we really needed a new one! It's awesome to have a photographer in the family. Thanks so much for sharing Lindsey! Here are my favorites:
Can you tell these two were almost engaged?!

Utah Trip - 1st ever Lyle LeFevre Reunion!
Now back to chronological order - still on our Utah trip:
The main reason for this whole trip was my own family's first reunion ever. We hadn't all been together for more than a few hours (at Grandma LeFevre's funeral) in five or six years so Mom and Dad really wanted to hold a reunion that everyone could attend. They rented a big cabin up Big Cottonwood Canyon for three days.
We all arrived at the Cabin on Thursday evening. Alan and I were on dinner duty that night so we cooked while everyone else watched out boys, played ping pong, and hung out. Alan and Spencer wanted to have a ping pong tournament, so Katelyn went to work creating a bracket.
We started out Friday morning with a short hike to Donut Falls, just a mile down the road from our cabin. I enjoyed the beautiful and very different from Oregon scenery. The falls were at the end of the hike, but it was difficult to get a good picture of them and I guess I didn't even try. Darn!
Grandpa and Mason are good hiking buddies. Grandpa carried him all the way back.
We have some cat lovers and some cat haters in our family so I thought this bumper sticker was funny.
Grandpa wore Mason out by the end of the hike! Spencer had gone ahead with the fast hikers at the very beginning and I didn't see him again until the end.
We spent Friday afternoon hanging out at the cabin.
Spencer was excited to play Phase 10 with a big group.
Watching the Tour de Utah bikers come down the canyon while Alan and I were shut out.
Katelyn and Zac introduced the family to Drinko - a game where chips falling down a plinko board determine what drinks you have to mix and then drink. Alan and I weren't back for this one yet, but it made for some pretty awesome facial expressions! I think the game was a hit with everyone who played.
Alan and I got back at the very end of Drinko. Mom had a couple of fun and informative family history games. We come from some pretty strong and amazing people! Thanks for putting that together Mom!

Sadly, I started getting a migraine on Friday afternoon. I did my best to keep it under control with Dr. Pepper and ibuprofen, but it didn't work. I was out of my prescription meds so there was nothing else I could do. I hoped it would only last about 12 hours, but I was pretty miserable until Saturday afternoon. Everyone else went on a hike Saturday morning while I curled up on the couch and read to try to distract myself from the pain. After lunch, we decided to pay for a couple of my pills without insurance and Alan drove me down the canyon to a pharmacy. The pharmacy didn't have my meds ready when they said they would however, so we turned around to go back to the cabin, but found the entire canyon closed for the Tour de Utah bike race. I was so frustrated and felt so miserable! Thank heavens our family at the cabin took good care of our boys for us while we were gone!
The canyon stayed closed for about two hours so we just found a place to park and wait for the pharmacy to get my prescription transferred and filled. I finally got my meds about two hours later. They don't help much when a migraine has progressed to that point however. I didn't really start feeling better until I threw up that evening. It was a really rotten way to spend most of the reunion!
I wasn't able to take any more pictures after the migraine hit, but thankfully Lindsey, our resident photographer, took some great ones and shared them with everyone. The rest of these pictures are from her.
