Here is yet another attempt to catch up on my blogging. ;)
Mason had his first official dentist appointment at the beginning of May. He was nervous to sit in the chair and wound up sitting on my lap in it, but I was amazed at how well he let the hygienist clean and the dentist examine his teeth! Getting to watch his favorite show (Paw Patrol!) during the cleaning and the promise of a balloon and another prize at the end helped a lot. Good job Mason!
The store where I do most of my grocery shopping has some bins of giant stuffed animals. We pass them when we're nearly finished shopping, so I use them as an incentive for good behavior. Mason gets to hold one animal if he is a happy shopper and doesn't grab things off the shelves. ;) We both thought this caterpillar was pretty cool.
We all love going to Grandma's and Grandpa's house for dinner nearly every Sunday. Spencer and Grandma play Trouble after dinner while Mason and I play with toys or run around the back yard. I have such good memories of my Grandma LeFevre reading to me that I had to take this picture.
Spencer participated in the Tigard track meet on a very rainy day in the middle of the month. (He participated in the Sherwood meet in April, but I woke up very sick to my stomach and had to ask Debbie to take him. That was a rainy day too, so I owe her big time!) Anyway, it rained hard all morning long on May 13th. We got out all of our winter gear again and Alan set up one of his Uberthons canopy tents for us to wait under between events, but Mason and I were still soaked and cold after a couple of hours. We went home at lunch time and left Alan and Spencer to finish.
Spencer did four events: long jump, 1500 meter, Turbo Javelin, and 100 meter. He had only practiced his field events once so he was pleased that he did better in them than he did at the Sherwood meet. He didn't quite get PR's in the running races, but still felt good about his times given the rotten conditions.
Spencer's running improved a lot this track season despite the rain that fell during almost every practice. He was old enough to train with the distance group this year and came home exhausted every time because he had been working hard. He didn't complain though and I think he is learning to truly enjoy running.
Picnic season officially opened! I thought Mason would do better at a table instead of on a blanket so we moved his little table and chairs out to the driveway. He loves picnics as much as the rest of us do!
We ran Uberthon's Spring 5k at Heirloom Roses at the end of the month. Spencer really wanted to set a new PR, but didn't quite make it. It was a warm morning and this course has very little shade so that probably contributed a bit. I let Mason out of the stroller for the very end of the race and he finished on his own two feet. He thought that was great!
So official!
Spencer took 3rd place in his age group: 1-14.
Alan and I got to celebrate his birthday and our 14th anniversary at the beach this year (more on that in another post), but we we went to dinner at Panera and the temple on our actual anniversary. It was nice and I'm so blessed to have this guy by my side for the rest of eternity! Hopefully we can learn how to take better selfies during all that time! haha!

New wall pictures
Here are the pictures I took of the boys last month for my walls. Way better quality (in my opinion!) and way cheaper than school pictures! I've been updating them around the boy's birthdays. The top two are the ones I liked the best and actually printed.
The rest of these are the out-takes. I guess Alan was feeling left out. :)
Examining the bird's nest that was blown out of a tree before I made him change his shirt.
Randomly quoting his favorite book, "Little Blue Truck." "Yellow dump truck coming through! I've big, important things to do!"

I heart these two!!
