Here are some pics of Spencer testing out his new leg. After 4 1/2 long weeks, he got his cast off yesterday! The x-rays they took before removing it showed that his femur is healing well. Alan and I are happy that it's off, but I'm not sure Spencer is yet. His muscles have atrophied quite a bit and he hasn't really started using his left leg yet. He was extremely clingy and grouchy all day today. All in all however, he actually did a whole lot better than I expected him to or than I would have done if I had been in the cast. He's a trooper! His vocal and fine-motor skills have really taken off this month since his gross-motor skills were so inhibited.

It's Off!

Congratulations Kate & Zac!
My little sister, Katelyn, married Zac Vidmar in the Snowflake, AZ Temple last Friday. Doesn't she look gorgeous?! I love the wedding glow. We got to spend a week down there for the wedding and had a great time. Alan and I didn't get to meet Zac until two days before the wedding, but it was easy to see that he and Kate are perfect together. Welcome to the fam, Zac!
Kate and Zac had their reception in my Dad's beautiful front yard just like Elise and I did. The weather was nice and the food was yummy! Never mind that my dress didn't fit and looked terrible. Hence, no pictures of me in it.
Here's Spencer making his "funny face" while waiting outside the temple.
The days leading up to the wedding were pretty crazy, but it was so nice to see some of my extended family. Here's a 4-generation pic of my Grandma LeFevre, my Dad, Spencer and I. I hadn't seen my Grandma in two years, so I was especially happy to visit with her.
Marc was a great buddy for Spencer. They're both pretty goofy! :)
Michelle started school while we were there. She's almost 14 and in 8th grade now. That's how old I was when she was born. Yikes! Michelle is almost as tall as me now and is such a fun, pretty girl. She's a great aunt to Spencer and even shared her prized beads with him a few times!

Quick Update
We're headed to AZ tomorrow for my sister's wedding, so I thought I'd do a quick update in the midst of major packing. For the most part, Spencer is doing really well. He's usually pretty happy, but today was a cranky day for some reason. At least until Alan got home. Now Alan doesn't believe me when I say it was a hard day. :) Spencer has put his super army-crawling skills to use and can get around the house pretty well now. His right knee and left toes are permanently dirty from pushing and dragging on the ground. Sleep is definitely our biggest issue right now. We have to bounce or rock him to sleep every time and he's always up before 6 am, sometimes before 5 am. Yuck! The cast comes off a week from Thursday. Yippee! Spencer's starting to get a little stinky. Here's a short video of his crawling skills.
Good-bye Cousins
For the three years that we've lived in Oregon, Alan's brother's family has lived about 30 minutes away from us. We have had Sunday dinner's at Alan's parent's house with them nearly every week and we've celebrated a lot of holidays together. They are moving to Ohio on Friday and we're really going to miss them. Eric (Alan's brother) is going back to school for his PhD. Oregon just isn't going to be the same without them. Cora, Kimmie and Elle have been such good buddies for Spencer. It's been fun watching them grow up. Thanks for all of the mom-advice and maternity/baby stuff, Chasten. And Eric, even though you like to tease me, I know deep down you think I'm the coolest! :) We don't want you to go, but are excited for this new opportunity for you and wish you the best of luck!
Here are the girls playing catch with Spencer on Sunday.
